Manheim is one of those Lancaster County towns where old and brand-new sit side by side - long-established homes near the center and a wave of developments that have gone up over the last couple of decades. Both keep us busy, but the newer ones have brought a pattern worth flagging.
Why so many newer systems need replacing
A lot of the homes around Manheim went up ten to fifteen years ago, and a fair number of them got builder-grade heating and cooling equipment. Several manufacturers in that segment, in that era, had some material and design flaws work their way into the units - and what we see now is that systems built in those years tend to make it only ten to fifteen years before they need replacing, rather than the twenty-plus you’d hope for. So if you’re in one of those developments and a system that isn’t really that old is already on its way out, there’s a reason for it. When we replace one, we fit the new equipment properly to the home, so the second system does better than the first.
Work around town
On the commercial side, we do work for the Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 school system, a good deal of it around Manheim - steady, get-it-right work we like. And the older homes in and around the borough bring the everyday plumbing and heating that comes with age.
